Librado "Jack" Ramirez Tabares, born April 2, 1927 in Casper, Wyoming to Santos Tabares and Ysabel Ramirez. Jack is the brother of Raymond, Guadalupe, Maria, Margarita, Angelina and Josefina. As a young boy, Jack went to school, and after school, went to work on the farm with the family. Jack as a young man, went into the Service, he was stationed in Germany, where he met his lovely bride, Jutta "Judy" Wirsching. Both Jack and Judy had to young children each, when they married in 1954, they had a "ready-made" family. Sons and daughter: George Wirsching, Librado Pearl Tabares, Santos Pearl Tabares and Judy Wirsching. In 1958, they had thier first born daughter (together), Caroline Tabares, in 1961, they had thier first son, Steven Jack Tabares, in 1962, they had thier 2nd daughter, Christina Carmelita Tabares (Duenas) and in 1964, they had their last child, Ruth Carlotta Tabares (Tapia).
When Librado (Jack) was starting school, his oldes sister, Guadalupe was the one who took him, his parents did not speak English, when ask what is name was, Guadalupe said, Librado, well no one could pronounce the name and the closest translation was "Book" Libro. So she came up with the name, Jack. He only completed the 7th grade, but you would never have known, he was no fool. He taught himself everything he knew. One of Jacks (dads) passions was music, he and his brother, Raymond played in their band, they played locally. Jack was the drummer, his brother played sax and trumpit. When Jack hurt his hand, he no longer played with the band. This band was called "Lo Primero De Tabares". The music never left him, he was always tapping on the stirring wheel of the car or on the table or just on his knee. He would whistle and could carry a tune. He always had music playing.
He worked on the farm for several years where he also lived with the whole family.
Jack loved cars, so he went to JM PERRY, to study about body work (for cars). He opened his own Body Shop in Wapato, and made a good name for himself. This was his passion, and he enjoyed it to the end. He also was a volenteer fireman, I think he just loved the excitement of the monitor letting him know it was time to save a home or car or maybe even a life. He also did Spanish/English translation for the local Police department.
Jack retired at the age of 62, he did many remodeling job at the house, many people wanted him to do things for them, but he said it was being done just because he like to doodle. Many of his "doodlings" are still in his home and with his children. Jack left his mark on many people and his family. When something was broken, they called on "Jackie" and he would fix it.
Jack could take a look in a magazine and duplicate it and make it look even better, more because it was done from the heart and he added his own touch, which made it even more special.
He loved playing pool, so he bought a pool table, and we all loved to play, he was pretty good, he and my brother Steve played often, then when company came over, he was in his glory, now he could play with someone who knew how to play, not just hit the balls from one end to the other.
Jack had a good life with many ups and downs, the biggest down was when his wife of more then 40 years passed away, but he never gave up, he knew he would be with her again, he knew she would be waiting for him and now they are together again.
